As for a ceasefire versus pause, seems like the words mean different things to different people. When people write "Ceasefire Now," what are they asking for specifically? I assume a halt of hostilities for the sake of negotiating some form of peace—not a halt of hostilities after which Israel will switch to a counterterrorism strategy.
Not sure I see ceasefire as being about reprimand, but if it were, surely it would apply equally to Hamas for slaughtering 1200 people and continuing to send missiles into Israel.
Innocents die in war. That is a tragic fate of war. The idea is to reduce death of civilians.
